Dendrobium nobile Genome sequencing and assembly

Dendrobium is one of the largest genera of Orchidaceae, and several Dendrobium species have high medicinal and ornamental value. The biosynthesis pathway of the medicinal ingredients remains to be studied. In this study, we report a chromosome-scale reference genome of D. nobile, an important medicinal and ornamental orchid, to facilitate the investigation of its genome characteristics and compare with other Dendrobium species genome characteristics. The assembled genome size of D. nobile was 1.15 Gb, with a scaffold N50 value of 62 Mb. Of the sequences, 99.10% were anchored to nineteen chromosomes.
