VPRS 1406 School Inspectors' Reports

This series consists of filed pro forma reports as submitted annually by the Inspectors of Schools. The registered correspondence number from VPRS 879 Registers of Inwards Correspondence is given on the top of the report denoting its receipt at the National Schools Board.A series of questions or tables were given for completion under a number of general headings. Not all queries were responded to by the Inspector. Sections were given for:- details of the Inspector, dates and duration of inspections- a summary of the school enrolment and attendance- participation and achievement of children in the curriculum areas- description of the school house and premises- school furniture- organisation and discipline- a description and evaluation of the teacher and any assistants and / or monitors- details of the school income- results of an examination of student achievement and proficiency in the curriculum- an evaluation of whether the Rules and Regulations of the Commissioners were being observed- an assessment of whether defects noted at a previous inspection had been remedied- any defects observed and- any matters it was believed necessary to communicate to the Local Patrons of the school.Other Inspectors' Reports may be found in Units 57 - 60 of VPRS 880 Inwards Registered Correspondence.
