This dataset is used to conduct a comprehensive meta-analysis of the peer-reviewed literature to estimate the drivers and impacts of salt marsh planting. The peer-reviewed literature were firstly searched through ISI Web of Science Core Collection in March 2021, using the following search item: TS = (saltmarsh* OR salt marsh*) AND TS = (planting OR plantation OR planted OR reveget* OR transplant* OR restor* OR rehab* OR living shoreline*), resulting in 5,493 publications. Additionally, we searched the bibliography of the papers included from the database search and several previous literature reviews, resulting in the inclusion of 110 other published and unpublished studies. In total 5,603 publications were identified. Finally, a total of 210 studies were retained. Overall, a total of 62 ecological effects variables related to climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation and 16 environmental variables were used in this study. These 62 ecological variables were categorized into 6 aggregate categories, namely shoreline protection, primary productivity, soil carbon storage, greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes, biodiversity conservation and fishery production. Finally, 1,038 survival data and 10,518 pairs of observations were included in this systematic review.

本数据集用于针对同行评议文献开展全面元分析,以估算盐沼(salt marsh)种植的驱动因素与影响。2021年3月,研究团队通过ISI Web of Science核心合集(ISI Web of Science Core Collection)开展文献检索,采用如下检索策略:主题字段(TS)匹配(saltmarsh* 或 盐沼(salt marsh)*)且主题字段(TS)匹配(planting 或 plantation 或 planted 或 reveget* 或 transplant* 或 restor* 或 rehab* 或 生态护岸(living shoreline)*),共检索得到5493篇文献。此外,本研究对数据库检索所得文献的参考文献列表及多篇既往综述文献进行追溯检索,新增纳入110项已发表与未发表研究。最终累计识别得到5603篇文献,经筛选后保留210项研究。本研究共使用62项与气候变化减缓、生物多样性保护相关的生态效应变量,以及16项环境变量。上述62项生态变量被划分为6大类,分别为岸线防护、初级生产力、土壤碳储量、温室气体(greenhouse gas, GHG)通量、生物多样性保护及渔业生产。最终,本系统综述共纳入1038条存活数据与10518对观测值。
