Composition and transmission characteristics of gut microbiota in carpenter bees Xylocopa caerulea and Xylocopa auripennis

We used 16S rDNA sequencing to investigate gut bacterial communities in different part of intestinal tract of two Xylocopa species and found that two carpenter bee species have consistent gut communities and specific gut symbionts that are common in bumblebees.
