Pennisetum giganteum silage microbial diversity research

Pennisetum giganteum represents a sustainable, high-quality alternative to conventional forage crops. While microbial fermentation-based silage technology effectively pre-serves forage nutrients, the specific role of Lactobacillus brevis in P. giganteum silage fermentation remains poorly understood. This study aims to establish an innovative pathway for the ecological and sustainable utilization of P. giganteum biomass resources through high-value silage production, addressing critical challenges in forage resource scarcity and feed grain reserve pres-sures in China.
