We carried out chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by Illumina sequencing (ChIP-seq) with antibodies against the centromere specific histone H3 variant CENH3 in a set of 11 related maize inbred stocks. The main goal of this project was to survey the diversity of centromere locations in maize and to characterize the epigenetic dynamics of CENH3 maintenance.
