Finnish Opinions on Security Policy and National Defence 2000: Spring

In the present study, citizens' views on, for example, military alliances and the different alliance alternatives were probed. The influence of the EU membership on, for example, environment, economics and employment was assessed, as well as respondents personal opinions on the administration of Finnish foreign policy. Phenomena influencing the security of Finland and the Finnish citizens, such as nuclear energy, NATO expansion, and situation in other countries were also studied. Background variables included respondent's political views, sex, age, place of residence, primary occupation, domestic environment, and household's annual income.
