This dataset contains the experimental data results of the GEOLAB Transnational Access project SAM-WT (Shared Anchor under Multidirectional Cyclic Loading for Floating Wind Turbines). The experimental work was performed at the Geotechnical Test Pit of the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in 2024.
Three lateral pile loading tests were conducted on a steel pile with a diameter of 325 mm and a length of 3 meters, embedded in dry sand within an indoor pit. These tests included a monotonic loading test (Test 0), a unidirectional cyclic loading test (Test 1), and a multidirectional cyclic loading test (Test 2). The cyclic tests comprised two cyclic packages with different mean and amplitude values, featuring 10,000 and 3,000 cycles, respectively. In all cases, the cyclic frequency was 0.125 Hz.
This dataset includes:
- A description of the experimental setup, test programme, and instrumentation, with detailed and comprehensive plans and photographs.- The test result files, recorded by the 47 sensors that equipped the setup. The files contain the raw data as captured by the instruments.
