Bradysia odoriphaga is an insect pest that threatens production of Chinese chive. Same as other insects, a wide variety of microorganisms exist in the gut of B. odoriphaga. The gut microbial community associated with this pest is of interest for potential biotechnological applications in development of pest-control measures.
