Development of Noval SSR markers in Grevillea robusta and their cross-amplification in Grevillea pteridifolia.

Wide genetic diversity of any plant and any tree species serves as the source for selection as well as for tree improvement. The genetic diversity influences the long-term viability and persistence of local populations of a particular species. The high level of genetic diversity among wide spread genotypes could be exploited by selection and raising quality planting stock. It would be helpful in conserving as well as enhancing diversity level of particular species. Thus, Next Generation Sequencing is important for the identification and characterization of genetic diversity of Grevillea robusta.
