Sisyra aurorae mitogenome

Sisyridae is a small lacewing family with elusive phylogenetic placement within the superfamily Osmyloidea.The larvae are exclusively aquatic as a specialist predator of freshwater sponges and can be used as indicators of freshwater quality. The mitogenome sequence can be used for the species identification and biodiversity monitoring, and also widely used on the reconstruction of phylogenetic relatinship of insects. Hitherto, only two partial mitochondrial genomes have been determined for sisyrids. The present mitogenome of Sisyra aurorae represents the first mitochondrial genome of Sisyridae from Asia. The voucher specimen also represents the first record of Sisyridae from Shanghai, China. The current research on the mitogenome of Sisyridae will provide new data for the molecular identification and the phylogenetic reconstruction of this family.
