This report analyzes trends in fishing activity of U.S. West Coast groundfish fisheries during the period 2002–23, including the amount, timing, location, and depth of fishing effort and retained catch. The National Marine Fisheries Science (NMFS) Biological Opinion (BiOp) on Continuing Operation of the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery (NMFS 2012) requires that reports be issued every two years and align with harvest specification periods, as feasible.
