Adipose tissues from four gastric cancer patients with cachexia (weight loss >5 % in recent 6 months) and an equal number of gastric cancer patients without cachexia (weight loss <5 % in recent 6 months) were included in the single cell sequencing experiments. For each patient, subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue were collected from midline abdominal incision and greater omentum during surgery, respectively.
