资源简介:
Tic disorders (TDs) are neurodevelopmental conditions often associated with alterations in the gut microbiota (GM). This study aims to explore the causal link between the GM and TD using genetic sequencing and Mendelian randomization (MR) methods. This study revealed distinct GM compositions between TD patients and controls. MR analyses suggested that Parasutterella and Ruminococcaceae NK4A214 were associated with a reduced risk of TD, whereas Lachnospira was linked to an increased risk. These findings indicate a potential causal role of specific GM taxa in TD development, emphasizing the importance of the GM in understanding and treating TD. This research opens avenues for novel therapeutic interventions targeting the GM to manage TD.
