Anonymized zooplankton community abundance data from a karst river-reservoir system in Southwest China

This dataset contains anonymized zooplankton community composition and abundance data used in the study “Explainable machine learning and causal inference reveal habitat-specific environmental and functional-trait drivers of zooplankton biodiversity in a karst river–reservoir system”. The dataset includes sample-level zooplankton abundance records across riverine and reservoir habitats. Sensitive information related to the protected first-class drinking-water source area, including precise geographic coordinates, detailed station descriptions, and raw water-quality monitoring data, has been withheld in accordance with local management requirements. Site identifiers were anonymized to support data transparency while protecting sensitive information.
