The 348 elite inbred lines used to conduct this study were selected from among publicly available pedigrees, hybrid registrations, and through personal communications with maize breeders. From among these lines, 258 representative germplasms were selected to establish a kernel protein phenotype-focused GWAS panel. Of these accessions, 145 while the remaining 113 were subjected to whole-genome sequencing(B73_V4, ftp://ftp.ensemblgenomes.org/pub/plants/release-37/fasta/zea_mays/dna), achieving an average coverage depth of 29.80 for each accession.
