SAPOS NW Geodetic Postprocessing Positioning Service (GPPS)

The satellite positioning service of the German national survey SAPOS offers comprehensive access to official spatial reference through centimeter-accurate positioning via GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) in the ETRS89 reference system. SAPOS is based on a network of reference stations that continuously evaluate satellite signals from the American GPS, the Russian GLONASS, the European Galileo and the Chinese navigation system Beidou. The Geodetic Postprocessing Positioning Service GPPS provides the observation data of the reference stations for subsequent evaluations. The data is available for retrieval in the vendor-independent receiver independent exchange format (RINEX). By using SAPOS-GPPS, positioning accuracy of 1 cm and better and height accuracy of 1 to 2 cm are achieved. Areas of application include, for example, basic and engineering surveying.
