Brochothrix thermosphacta is one of the dominant bacteria associated with spoilage of chilled meat and seafood products. Its growth and metabolic activities during food storage result in the production of metabolites associated with off-odors. These spoiling molecules produced by B. thermosphacta depend both on strains and on food matrix. Four strains, B. thermosphacta CD 337, TAP 175, BSAS1 3, and EBP 3070 were selected for genomic analysis. These were isolated from different ecological niches and were phenotypically and genetically different. One complete and three draft genome sequences were produced. These genomes were compared with other B. thermosphacta available genome sequences.
