资源简介:
Study was done to evaluate if paracervical block with 0.5% bupivacaine administered after general anesthesia reduce immediate post-operative pain after TLH. Women were randomized into bupivacaine or placebo group. After administration of general anesthesia before placement of uterine manipulator, paracervical block was administered as per group allocated (10 ml 0.5% bupivacaine or 0.9% normal saline, 5ml at each side in the placebo group). VAS was noted at 30 minutes and 60 minutes after the extubation time. VAS at 30 minutes 5.804±1.301 vs. 6.361±1.321; p-0.011) and 60 minutes (6.112±1.268 vs. 6.609±1.272; p-0.019) were significantly lower in bupivacaine group. The need for additional analgesia, time to first mobilize and duration of hospital stay did not differ significantly in both groups (p-0.57, 0.37, 0.23 respectively).
