资源简介:
This archive comprises images from a historic building recording at Treviscoe Methodist Church, Treviscoe, St Austell, Cornwall. This work was undertaken by ISCA Archaeology in October 2024. The Treviscoe Methodist Church exemplifies early 20th-century nonconformist architecture, with an auditory space and facilities typical of mid-sized chapels from that period. Its layout and completeness, including preserved outbuildings, suggest a rare architectural integrity. Notably, it is the only known chapel in Cornwall with terracotta detailing on the facade and tracery, enhancing its uniqueness. The chapel's presence and stature in the townscape is significant in a sense that it reinforces the community's sense of place, adding aesthetic, architectural, and societal value through the shared identity and belonging it fosters.
