HISAR - Hydrologic Indices of South America Rivers

This is a preview of the HISAR dataset (Hydrologic Indices of South America Rivers). The files provided are (i) a ESRI shapefile with river reachs discretized in the hydrological modeling ,carried out with the MGB (Modelo de Grandes Bacias), of South America and their respective 74 hydrologic indices as their attributes, (ii) maps with hydrologic indices, (iii) maps of the spatialization of the error of some indices and (iv) the scripts used to calculate the indices. This database can give a spatial view of the variability of the characteristics of the river flow regime trough the hidrologic indices. The ESRI shapefile has 39,168 river reaches, with an average length of 15 km, over the South American continental area and has 74 hydrologic indices as its attributes. The ESRI shapefile also has the attributes of drainage area (km²), length (decimal degrees), UC (corresponding catchment attribute from hydrological modelling), HYear_min (representing the month of the start of the hydrological year of minimum flow) and HYear_max (the month of the start of the hydrological year of maximum flow). A few attribute values of hidrologic indices are equal to -9999999, which means that the value of the hidrological indices calculated was not obtained.
