A Georeferenced Dataset for the Spatial Distribution of Borrelia burgdorferi in Northeastern China and Neighboring Areas

This is a comprehensive georeferenced dataset that encompasses records extracted from peer-reviewed literature published between 2000 and 2022 in China. Our investigation includes both Chinese and English journal articles, conference papers, and dissertations. Rigorous quality control procedures were implemented to eliminate duplicate data and ensure the accuracy of the dataset. The dataset comprises 626 Borrelia burgdorferi detection records on tick vectors, reservoir hosts, and humans from 110 references and is categorized at various scales, ranging from provinces to townships. The dataset presents a comprehensive compilation of the distribution of B. burgdorferi in Northeastern China and adjacent areas, enabling exploration of the spatial and temporal dynamics and aiding in predicting the cross-border spread risk of B. burgdorferi infection. It could also serve as a valuable resource, pinpointing regions at risk and modelling exercises towards environmental and health management practices with the economic and societal drivers.
