Datasets for "Male-dependent resistance to Spiroplasma-induced cytoplasmic incompatibility"

These datasets were generated for the study titled “Male-dependent resistance to Spiroplasma-induced cytoplasmic incompatibility”, investigating the relatedness of Spiroplasma (named sDis) in the Lariophagus distinguendus species complex, the occurrence of cytoplasmic incompatibility (CI) in selected L. distinguendus strains and the effect of host strain and host sex on CI induction.The files contain the data for the crossing experiments conducted with different combinations of Spiroplasma-infected and uninfected males and females from different strains and species belonging to the L. distinguendus species complex to test for the presence of Spiroplasma-induced CI indicated by the reduction or absence of female offspring. Each file corresponds to one set of crossing experiments and gives the origin host strain and the Spiroplasma infection status for each crossing partner, as well as IDs for either individual crossing partners or crossing combinations and additional information used for statistical analyses, where required.
