A curated dataset of androgynophore and gynophore traits in angiosperms, with a China-centred survey

Trait dataset of receptacle-derived floral axes in angiosperms, compiled from the complete family treatments of Flora ofChina (313 families, Vols 2–25), Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae and a global complement of regional floras andPOWO. The release contains 701 species in two tables: a main table of 417 species with a floral androgynophore (asingle axis bearing both stamens and pistil), and an appendix of 284 species documenting the remaining floral-axissenses (floral gynophore, fruit stalk, sterile pistil, ambiguous cases). Each record gives the structure type and context, thesource-stated length with harmonised millimetre bounds, native range, the name basis applied, provenance and anevidence grade. Taxonomy follows APG IV (24 families, 16 orders, explicit clade path). All names are the POWO/WCVPaccepted names (World Checklist of Vascular Plants, Kew), with family-level molecular-systematic revisionssuperimposed (Brassicaceae after Al-Shehbaz & Warwick 2005; Magnoliaceae after Figlar & Nooteboom 2004;Gentianaceae after Gentianinae phylogenies); 65 records were renamed or merged relative to the source floras andevery change carries its basis. Every China-component record was verified verbatim against the source (402/402), and204 records were additionally checked by the authors against POWO/WCVP and the source floras; the completedchecklist (without verbatim source text) is provided as Supplementary Data.
