Protective effect of Si-Miao-Yong-An decoction on myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion injury and its mechanism

Inflammation is the major pathogenic factor of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), and the disease is strongly associated with the gut microbiota. Si-Miao-Yong-An (SMYA) decoction is a conventional Chinese herbal prescription effective against inflammation in CAD, which also modulates the gut microbiota. Yet, the therapeutic mechanism behind this is unclear.
