VPRS 12797 Database for the Management and Control of the Central Correspondence Files, Multiple Number System [FACCTS] [RECORDS NOT TRANSFERRED]

This series was created to manage the central correspondence of the Education Department (VA 714), later Ministry of Education and Training (VA 1112) and Department of Education (VA 3098) between 1984 and 1994.The Departments file registration system was decentralised with each section of the Department permitted to create its own files using its allocated registry code. Each section was linked to the central database allowing for sequential numbering of files. The FACCTS Administrator was responsible for the allocation of the registry codes and maintenance of the central database. The amount of files created for each section varies greatly although the subject matter reflected the functions of that section.
