V.vulnificus strain CECT4999 is an isolate of biotype 2 (BT2) serovar E from Spain. As an eel pathogen, serovar E causes primary septicemia or vibriosis that affects captured eels maintained in breeding farms. The aim of this study is to sequence and annotate the BT2 genome and to perform a comparative analysis among BT1 and BT2 strains to identify possible virulence mechanisms in the V. vulnificus genome.
