Dataset on ecological responses, nutrient dynamics, and decomposition of Pontederia crassipes in aquatic environments

This dataset compiles environmental and experimental data generated using data from the SmartBio project and complementary field surveys conducted in the Ria de Aveiro region (Portugal). The dataset includes: Water physicochemical parameters collected across the Ria de Aveiro aquatic system; Nutrient concentrations in dry biomass of Pontederia crassipes obtained after mesocosm experiments under different salinity Nutrient dynamics in dry biomass after Pontederia crassipes decomposition experiments; Processed data used for alluvial graphic analyses related. These data were produced to support research on the ecological and functional responses of the invasive macrophyte Pontederia crassipes across the aquatic continuum, with a focus on nutrient cycling, salinity influence, and ecosystem regulation services.
