Mycobiome diversity of the K-67 Kiosk (Serbia)

The iconic Kiosk K67 object is recognizable applied art solution by Slovenian architect Sasa Machtig. In the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, K67 had multiple purposes such as newspaper points of sale, hot dog parlors, student coffee shops, lottery sales, border police houses etc. Since significant biodeterioration was detected on the surface of the Kiosk K67 object, primary purpose of the study was to identify the mycobiome associated with the damaged surfaces and to obtain a more comprehensive picture of fungal-induced deterioration. Total mycobiota was analyzed by using the NovaSeq 6000 sequencing platform.
