Biocontrol by microorganisms to control plant diseases is considered as an effective option due to high efficiency as well as environmental friendliness. An excellent biological control fungus was collected from deep-sea marine sediments of South Pacific Ocean by using Fungi II medium., which was identified as a novel species of genus Talaromyces. Like fungi in genus Penicillium, Talaromyces were also important economic filamentous fungi. At present, there were still few researches on Talaromyces fungi. Many molecular researches needed to rely on genomic data platforms, and there was still little genomic information about Talaromyces. This has greatly hindered the investigations of Talaromyces fungi. To this end, second- and third-generation sequencing techniques were used to sequence the genome of Talaromyces sp. CCTCC M 20232230 strain DSF149.
