The Giant Oarfish, also known scientifically as Regalecus glesne, is the longest bony fish in the world. Shaped like a ribbon and able to swim by wriggling its body in a serpentine motion, the Giant Oarfish is believed to have been mistaken for a sea serpent on occasion.
