Benthic Algal Resilience Literature Synthesis: Data, Citations, R Code, and Metadata / Methods

This package contains data used to conduct a meta-analysis of benthic algal resilience to 133 disturbances, plus associated information (citations, methods, metadata, and R code). This package is published in conjunction with an associated research publication (Thomas P Shannon and Evelyn E Gaiser. (2026). For full information, see the .docx file here or the associated publication. File descriptions are as follows: The .csv file contains the data used in the meta-analysis. The .xlsx file contains the same as the .csv file, plus a second datasheet which provides both the abbreviated and full citations for all publications used in the meta-analysis. The .docx file contains metadata descriptions of every factor (column) and categorical metric, plus methods describing how categorization was conducted for each factor. This file also includes a full bibliography of all publications assessed in the meta-analysis. the .R file contains R code used to analyze and graph the metadata trends.
