资源简介:
The scattering coefficients are here listed as a function of the temperature, elevation, liquid water fraction (if applicable), and hydrometeor content. Hydrometeor contents are derived from the ICE3 microphysics scheme (1-moment).
Tables are herein provided for each hydrometeor type of OPERADAR (cloud water (cc), rain (rr), graupel (gg), wet graupel (wg), snow (ss), hail (hh), wet hail (wh), and pristine ice (ii)), at C-band radar wavelength.
Description :
1- The first two lines are a description of the parameterization used to create the tables (density, axis ratio, range of temperature, microphysics scheme, etc.). A description of these parameters is available in the GitHub Wiki.
2- The remaining lines are what OPERADAR uses to compute synthetic polarimetric variables. The red columns are :
- temperature (Tc)
- elevation angle (ELEV)
- liquid water fraction (P3)
- hydrometeor content (M)
- horizontal cross-section (sighh)
- vertical cross-section (sigvv)
- real part of the backscatter differential phase (REdeltaco)
- imaginary part of the backscatter differential phase (IMdeltaco)
- specific differential attenuation at horizontal polarization (Ah)
- specific differential attenuation at vertical polarization (Av)
Note : you may notice that columns from sighh to Av are duplicated with a "R" at the end (sighhR, ..., AvR). The R letter means that all these variables have been computed in the Rayleigh approximation and not with the T-matrix method. OPERADAR can read these columns if set accordingly.
Note 2 : the tables do not have a spatiotemporal extent and can be used for any date and domain. Hence, the domain entered here corresponds to the domain where OPERADAR has been applied in David et al. (2025) and the date is the creation date.
