The high-altitude points of precision levelling (PN) – usage heights – form a leveling net, which was measured from 1873 by the Military Geographic Institute and subsequently by the Federal Office of Calibration and Surveying. The heights refer to the Trieste/Italy level (epoch 1875). Currently, about 29.000 high points are available across Austria.
