The data set contains the known and enlightened cases as well as suspects by age, gender, nationality and crime groups in Düsseldorf since 2014. A deeper breakdown of crime groups as well as the age of the suspects is available at the Office for Statistics and Elections of the City of Düsseldorf. A case that has become known is any criminal offence, including attempts threatened with punishment, which is based on a (criminal) police report. Including crimes from previous years. An enlightened case is the offence for which, following the (criminal) police investigation, a suspected person who is at least known by name or taken on a fresh act has been identified. Including crimes from previous years. In the crime breakdown, the suspect, even if he or she has been counted several times in a subgroup, is counted only once in the next higher group. Consequently, the sum of the suspects from the subgroups does not have to coincide with the number of suspects of the next higher group.
