Employment participation; origin

This table contains quarterly and annual figures on the employment rate of persons and their origin. The population aged 15 to 75 (excluding the institutional population) is divided into the employed, unemployed and non-working population. The working population is further classified according to the position in the working environment and the average working time. For the different classifications, a breakdown by gender, age and having a starting qualification is available. CBS is moving on to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where someone was born, in addition to where one’s parents were born. The word ‘migration background’ is no longer used. The main division of Western/Non-Western is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin. Data available from: 2013 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Amendments as of 14 November 2023: The figures for the third quarter of 2023 have been added. Amendments as of 12 January 2023: None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, the 2021 figures are not necessarily comparable to those up to 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labour Participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see paragraph 4), recalculating the results for the period 2013-2020 in order to align with the results from 2021 onwards. In further detailing the results by job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences between 2020 and 2021 as a result of the new methodology. When will there be new figures?
