Radical Component Seismic Data Recorded along profile TS2017-2
收藏资源简介:
This archive contains wide-angle seismic data from the TS2017-2 survey line, collected in the southern Mariana Trench. The focus of this paper is on the radial component seismic data recorded by eight ocean-bottom seismometers (OBS) deployed on the subducting Pacific Plate. The seismic source consisted of a four-air-gun array with a total volume of 6000 cu. in. The shooting interval was 90 s at an average ship speed of 5 knots. The radial component data are obtained by rotating the horizontal component measurements. The data processing includes format conversion, correction for time drift and shot/OBS positions, and band-pass filtering. Using these data, we inverted converted S-wave arrivals using seismic tomography along the TS2017-2 profile extending from outer trench slope to outer rise. We present S-wave velocity model and calculated Vp/Vs ratio model based on previous published P wave velocity structure. Combined with the analysis of high-resolution multibeam bathymetric data, we reveal the structure and compositional nature of the subducting plate, investigating role of bend-faulting, hydration, and mantle serpentinization of the incoming plate at southern Mariana Trench. The format of seismic data in this repository is SU.
