Catalog of chimney-like constructs mapped near 9°50'N, East Pacific Rise (AUV Sentry, 2018-2021)

This data set presents a catalog of chimney-like constructs mapped near 9°50'N on the East Pacific Rise. The file is in ASCII comma-separated format and contains a listing of 448 chimney-like structures mapped using data collected by AUV Sentry during 19 dives between 2018 and 2021. After mapping, possible chimneys were categorized by likelihood of being actively venting or not based upon geometry and coincident water column properties (see Wu et al. for further details).The data set was generated as part of the project called Monitoring hydrothermal fluids, crustal permeability and seafloor morphology in preparation for the next volcanic eruption at the East Pacific Rise, 9°50'N, with funding from NSF awards OCE18-34797, OCE19-48936, OCE19-49485, and OCE19-49938.
