Overview of the economic contribution of SMEs in Ghana 2023, by category

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) play a significant role in Ghana's economy. In 2023, over 90 percent of business enterprises in the country were SMEs. Moreover, they did not only form around 80 percent of the total employment in Ghana but also accounted for some 60 percent of the country's GDP.
