Orfamide production influence bacterial community assemby in the rhizosphere of wheat

This study was designed to evaluate the impact that the production of the cyclic lipopeptide orfamide by Pseudomonas protegens strain CHA0 has on the assemblage of the rhizospheric communities of wheat growing in natural soil. Three experimental groups were set up: 1) wheat seeds planted into natural soil; 2) wheat seeds bacterized with the wild type strain CHA0; 3) wheat seeds bacterized with the isogenic mutant lacking the orfamide biosynthetic genes ofaABC. Rhizospheric soil from 4-week old plants were collected, DNA was purified, and submitted for 16S V3-V4 amplicon sequencing (Illumina).
