RNA-seq analysis of NILs and SGR mutants against infections of pathogens of different lifestyles

This loss-of-susceptibility mutation of CsSGR has provided effective protection to pathogens of different lifestyles for over 50 years in the field. However, the molecular mechanisms of CsSGR-regulated multiple disease resistance (MDR) remain to be explored. In this study, we developed near-isogenic lines (NILs) and novel allelic variants of CsSGR with CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing (GE) for this MDR locus and through extensive transcriptomic investigations to understand its potential molecular mechanisms in regulating MDR.
