H3Dv2.1 Borings

Per modelled (hydrogeological) unit, a map layer is available with bores identifying the base (or top) of that unit, and used for modelling the base of that unit in H3Dv2.1. The shapefiles contain per unit and per bore the depth of the base of the unit in meters compared to the start of the bore, as well as the depth of the base in mTAW in the bore and according to the model. Drillings that did not reach the basis of the unit in question, but were used as an indication for its determination, were given the code ‘-8888’. The corresponding “Delta-z” value (difference between depth interpretation according to model and bore) is then given the value “99999”. The Hydrogeological 3D model was drawn up under the management agreement of the Flemish government with VITO, under the name VLAKO, commissioned by the Flemish Environmental Society.
