Assembly of Hordeum vulgare subsp. vulgare cultivar Golden Promise as part of the SHAPE project.. SHAPE_golden_promise

The SHAPE project aims at unraveling the complexity of the barley Pan-Genome (the sum of (i) the core-genome shared in all barley haplotypes and the (ii) dispensable part of the genome found only individual haplotypes). This includes generating additional reference quality genome assemblies and using different NGS-based approaches to monitor small to large scale structural variation and combine with other publicly available sources of barley genome diversity in a high density variation matrix, which will then be tested for its relevance in barley genomic selection breeding programs.
