TAF7L REGULATES EARLY STAGES OF MALE GERM CELL DEVELOPMENT

Male germ cell development is dependent on the orchestrated regulation of gene networks. TAF7 like (Taf7l) is situated on the X chromosome and has been implicated in testis development. We examined the biology of TAF7L in testis development using the rat. Taf7l disruption resulted in male infertility due to compromised testis development and failed sperm production. An arrest in the progression of meiosis was observed.
雄性生殖细胞发育依赖于基因网络的协同调控。TAF7样蛋白(TAF7L,TAF7 like)定位于X染色体,且与睾丸发育过程密切相关。本研究以大鼠为实验模型,探究了TAF7L在睾丸发育中的生物学功能。Taf7l基因敲除可引发雄性不育,具体表现为睾丸发育受损与精子生成障碍,同时可观察到减数分裂进程发生阻滞。
