资源简介:
In this study, we address questions about the effects of biogeochemistry and seasonal variation during vertebrate decomposition. The goal of this study was to integrate soil biogeochemistry with microbial changes during human decomposition. In a field study conducted at the University of Tennessee Anthropology Research Facility, soils were collected at two depths, 0-1 cm (interface), and 1-16 cm (core), from controls and from underneath three decomposing human individuals for the period of one year, beginning in the spring. Soil physicochemical parameters were measured, and microbial (bacterial and fungal) communities were assessed via 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing. This dataset is compared to a secondary dataset beginning in the winter.
