CorTySSeA -- Corynebacterium Type Strain Sequencing, Assembly, and Annotation

The CorTySSeA project contains complete, closed genomes of Corynebacterium species type strains. It aims to provide high quality sequences that can aid genome-based taxonomy and act as a resource for basic as well as applied science. The genomes aggregated under the CorTySSeA umbrella bioproject derive from manually curated assemblies created at the Center for BioTechnology (CeBiTec) since 1997. Due to the vast improvements in sequencing technologies, it now encompasses the genomes, with SNP resolution in repeats, of all type strains validly published until end of August 2018 and aims to continue to be updated in case novel Corynebacterium species are described.
