A dataset and source code for object detection and tracking using YOLOv8 and DeepSORT

This dataset and source code are supplementary materials for our study on object detection and tracking using YOLOv4/YOLOv8 and DeepSORT.The project includes training images and labels, test videos, trained models, and tracking results. It also contains the complete Python code and Jupyter notebooks used in model training, tracking execution, and analysis of object movement and spatial density.

The structure is organized as follows:

data/: Training and validation datasets, and sample videos

training/: YOLOv4 and YOLOv8 training configuration, code, and model weights

tracking_analysis/: DeepSORT outputs and movement/density analysis

notebooks/: Jupyter notebooks for training, tracking, and result visualization

All code and notebooks are designed to be executable in Google Colab and contain relative paths for reproducibility.Please refer to the README.md in the root folder for detailed usage instructions.
