Abundance and composition of macrolitter and small plastics in Chilean rivers, registered by the Científicos de la Basura citizen science program

Data set generated by means of citizen science, which contains data collected in Chilean rivers in 2013, 2017 and 2021, by means of applying the following samplings:

Macrolitter on the riverside

Variety of litter on the riverside

Litter accumulations on the riverside

Floating microlitter

Floating macrolitter

Identification of litter sources

The data set also contains the sampling dates, the names and coordinates of the surveyed rivers, the zone and region where they are located, and the name of the school or the type of volunteers group that conducted each sampling.
