Whole genome sequencing of isolates of Burkholderia from a suspected common source

During the latter part of 2020, our laboratory received representatives of the same strain of a Burkholderia species (identified as Burkholderia aenigmatica on the basis of recA sequencing) from patients from multiple hospitals in England, with no apparent links between them, suggesting a common source. Most of these isolates were from blood. By submitting these sequences to the Sequence Read Archive, we hope to give others the opportunity to compare their isolates with these, so that they can identify if they too have found this strain, perhaps helping to identify the source.
