Metagenomic sequencing data of stray dog fecal samples (PRJCA039439)

To systematically characterize the current structure and functional potential of the gut microbial communities in stray dogs, this study employed metagenomic sequencing technology to analyze fecal samples collected from stray dogs in a Shenzhen shelter. After high-throughput sequencing, host-derived sequences were filtered and removed. The microbial composition and functional genes were then investigated using both short-read (reads) and assembled contig analyses, revealing key features of the intestinal microbiota.
